It is hard to believe that it is almost May! Where has this year gone!? I hope you had a restful and enjoyable vacation with your family.
- In math we are wrapping up our geometry unit on quadrilaterals and will begin to study area and perimeter. In class, we continue to spiral back and practice concepts we have learned in previous units to reinforce all of our math skills. I suggest that the kids go onto IXL and practice fraction skills - W.1-W.13 and Quadrilaterals - DD.3-DD.8. As always please help your child study their basic facts in all four operations ten minutes every night.
- During our writing time the kids have researched a famous Massachusetts person and have begun writing a biography. Everyone is working quite hard to write a biography with factual information in a narrative style . Also, the kids will create a google slideshow of their famous person.
- Our current unit in science is focused on environmental changes and how both humans and natural events can cause changes to the environment. This unit involves investigation of natural events and how people can lessen the effects.
- In reading we continue to focus on reading comprehension strategies and reading closely for a deeper understanding of text.
Important dates:
- April 28th Eukele Melee at Cutler
- May 14th and 15th Math MCAS
